Energy savings and carbon footprint Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu has adopted several energy-saving strategies, illustrating its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

Intelligent thermostats

The room temperature at the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu is designed to adjust automatically, rising at check-in to welcome guests in a comfortable environment, then falling when they are absent to optimise energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. This intelligent temperature management not only ensures optimum comfort for guests when they are present, but also contributes to the hotel’s sustainability by minimising energy consumption.

LED light bulbs

The Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu hotel is implementing a programme to recover used light bulbs while gradually replacing all incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs. This doubly responsible initiative not only ensures more energy-efficient and sustainable lighting throughout the establishment, but also helps to reduce waste and the environmental impact associated with the use of less efficient bulbs.

Electric charging stations

Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu is actively committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by installing 80 electric vehicle charging stations in partnership with Tesla, marking a major energy shift on its site. In addition, in collaboration with NordExpé, the hotel is introducing the first electric snowmobiles, breaking new ground in eco-responsible leisure activities. Electric golf carts complete this arsenal of green measures, contributing to a more sustainable leisure experience. These initiatives illustrate Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu’s commitment to a greener future that is less dependent on fossil fuels.

Heat pumps

Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu has opted to install heat pumps to heat its swimming pools, as well as heating tiles around the outdoor pools. This technical modernisation has significantly reduced the electricity consumption associated with these installations, by more than 40%. This advanced technological choice reflects the establishment’s commitment to improving its energy efficiency and minimising its ecological footprint, while offering optimum comfort to its customers.

Klimato

Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu is teaming up with Klimato to assess the carbon footprint of every dish served in its restaurants. This collaboration aims to raise consumer awareness of the environmental impact of their food choices, in the hope of encouraging more sustainable consumption habits. By providing clear information on the carbon footprint associated with each dish, the hotel is actively contributing to ecological awareness among its guests, underlining its commitment to environmentally-friendly practices and the promotion of responsible eating.

IT initiatives

Since 8 June 2010, all computers automatically switch to ‘energy saving’ mode after one hour of inactivity.

Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu plans to work with HPE Aruba. HPE is committed to providing sustainable solutions and services that can help customers and partners meet their climate goals and achieve their own carbon neutrality and social impact commitments as part of their business transformation.
